The ICC Cricket World Cup comes to England and Wales in 2019, and organisers are looking for volunteers to play a part in one of the biggest events on the sporting calendar.

Get involved in cricket’s biggest event

Volunteers – known as World Cup Cricketeers – will gain unique access to the tournament and play a key role in delivering six weeks of top class international cricket. Factoring in the chance to meet new people and gain important skills, it all adds up to a life-enhancing experience.

Over a million people are expected to attend matches across eleven venues in England and Wales. A range of volunteers roles include spectator services, fan zone work, accreditation roles, way-finding and transport.

Organisers are looking for people of all ages, genders and ethnicity, to enhance even further an event that will showcase the diversity of global cricket.

Recruitment has now begun through an online application process and will conclude on 15 June. The programme features a dedicated interview process followed by comprehensive training for successful candidates.

Volunteering in sport has a host of proven benefits

Recent research has uncovered the true value of volunteering in sport, with overwhelming evidence that volunteering boosts well-being and self-esteem. And what a way to get up close and involved in an elite sporting event.

ICC Cricket World Cup winner Charlotte Edwards and former England batsman James Taylor are the faces of the World Cup Cricketeer programme. The pair will be attending interview days and training sessions to pass on their knowledge of playing in a sporting event of this scale.

I am delighted to be part of the World Cup Cricketeers programme and I urge everyone to apply to be a volunteer at next summer’s showpiece event. There is no better chance to be the face of a global tournament in England and Wales and with that comes a unique opportunity to play an important role in the biggest event in cricket. James Taylor

As a player you always highly appreciate the work that the volunteers do to provide a platform for greatness on the field of play – without a dedicated team of volunteers the tournament wouldn’t be a success. Charlotte Edwards

Candidates must be available for a minimum of three shifts across the tournament and available to attend training sessions in the run-up.

Applications to be part of the World Cup Cricketeers team can be completed and submitted here. Good luck!
