Are you, or have you been, a hockey player that has an interest in coaching / teaching hockey? If so, England Hockey have launched a series of free teacher training workshops across the country.

The workshops are aimed specifically at those with little or no experience of delivering hockey, or those who simply wish to increase their confidence in delivering hockey. Some of the sessions will be delivered in unison with TeamUp, a fabulous initiative designed to make the most of the legacy of three women’s World Cups held in this country, and give as many 7-13 year old girls as great an opportunity to play team sports as possible.

As part of the hockey teacher training workshops teachers will be provided with:

  • Ideas and tips on delivering fun and engaging sessions
  • Confidence in planning safe and fun sessions that encourage implicit learning
  • Information about equipment and resources which make session delivery simple
  • A grasp of hockey in its current form and how it can be played at any level

Last academic year we launched our free teacher training nationally and provided training to over 750 teachers. Based on the initial success and to celebrate the Vitality Women’s World Cup being hosted in London we are looking to train 2018 teachers in total by next December. The workshops are open to any primary or secondary school teachers who are looking for easy to use ideas to deliver fun and engaging hockey sessions. Jo Duff, participation programmes manager at England Hockey

The following courses are now confirmed and available for booking.
