Naomi Folkard and Patrick Huston have been named by the British Olympic Association (BOA) as the two archers to represent Team GB at the Rio Olympic Games.

Both Naomi and Patrick will compete in the individual recurve event as Team GB look to continue what has been a tremendous 2016 for British archery, in particular for Northern Irishman Patrick.

Meeting our archery representatives in Rio

Currently ranked 39th in the world, Belfast-born Patrick finished 3rd in the European Championships in May and before that, as part of the Team GB recurve team, enjoyed a brilliant run to the bronze medal match at the Archery World Cup. Patrick – at just 20 years of age – will be making his Olympic debut and he will head to Brazil brimming with confidence.

Naomi, from Leamington Spa, is becoming something of an Olympic veteran and this will be her 4th Olympic Games, having debuted in Athens in 2004 as well as competing at London 2012. She qualified for Rio with a fine 2nd place at the recent World Cup in Antalya, Turkey, and will look to use all of her considerable Olympic experience in her quest for a medal.

We’d like to send our congratulations to both Patrick and Naomi and wish them the best of luck in their preparations for Rio.
