The provision of easily accessible and affordable – or even free – sporting activity is vital at a time when young people in this country are becoming increasingly unfit. The Parklives with StreetGames programme is a fabulous initiative that will offer free outdoor sporting activity in the heart of local communities nationwide – our parks.

A win-win opportunity

The programme aims to give children, young people and their families the opportunity to utilise parks within their local communities through engagement in a variety of sports and physical activity – providing them with new skills, knowledge and confidence.

It is due to kick off in April 2018, running for a minimum of 18 weeks until August – and organisers are looking for sports clubs and other groups that provide sporting or physical activity to get involved. It’s a great way to not only bring sport to kids free of charge and make a positive difference in your community, but also to showcase what you’re about and maybe inspire some of the participants to join your club or group on a permanent basis. It’s an absolutely win-win opportunity.

What is ParkLives?

ParkLives is an initiative which started in 2015 offering free, outdoor activities in parks across the country. The ParkLives with StreetGames programme builds on the initial ParkLives programme through StreetGames’ experience and learning from the Sport England funded Doorstep Sport Clubs and CLUB1 programme.
