In this modern and increasingly sedentary world of ours, it is imperative that we keep our children active and involved in sport. High 5 Netball is a version of netball aimed specifically at kids aged 9-11, and is an inclusive and exciting introduction to the sport.

So what is High 5 Netball all about and how does it work?

Not only does High 5 introduce kids to the core skills required for netball, it is a means of keeping the children involved more engaged, more of the time.

High 5 is a 5-a-side version of netball. Moreover, its unique selling point is the rotating of positions. Of course, in traditional netball the 7 players in every team play in fixed positions. High 5 sees each player on the court rotating position after each quarter, meaning participants get to experience every position on the netball court and making them more adaptable as their netball career progresses. Each player must play in at least two positions during a game, and no player should ever be off-court for consecutive rotations.

With two teams of 5 players on court at any one time, off-court players take on roles such as time-keeper, centre-pass marker, scorer and even umpire, to ensure maximum engagement and participation. It allows them to see the game from every conceivable perspective, giving youngsters a more comprehensive grasp on the physical attributes and tactical skills required in netball.

It is a great way for kids to get active, meet new people and enjoy themselves and we believe that, wherever possible, every netball club or primary school should include High 5.
